04.02.2005

Yaroslav Rybakov repeated the World season’s best of 2.35 m in the men’s high jump at the Eurojump meeting, held in Goteborg (Sweden) yesterday. His achievement is the Russian season’s best too.
Yaroslav beat Olympic champion Stefan Holm of Sweden, who was unbeaten during the last year. Stefan fell to a Russian athlete in the second time after his first defeat from Aleksei Dmitrik in Glasgow.

During the meeting, Yaroslav made a mistake once, where he didn’t clear 2.31m. After that, both competitors cleared 2.33, but 2.35 was only cleared by Yaroslav.

Sergei Kliugin was fourth with 2.25. Tatiana Kivimiagi-Novoseltseva won the women’s event with 1.92.
