The 53rd edition of the Znamensky Memorial, an IAAF World Challenge meeting, will be held at the Meteor stadium in Zhukovskiy, Russia on 3 July.
The Znamensky Memorial is an IAAF Hammer Throw Challenge part as well. The qualifying events (3 attempts for each thrower) will be held on 2 July, and the finals in the throwing events will be held on 3 July. Each finalist will have 4 attempts.
Daegu’s main rivals Germany’s Betty Heidler, Russia’s Tatyana Lysenko and Gulfiya Khanafeyeva, USA’s Jessica Cosby, Moldova’s Margiev sisters, Cuba’s Yipsi Moreno will compete in the women’s hammer throw in Zhukovskiy.
In the men’s hammer throw, there will be Russia’s Aleksey Zagorny and Sergey Litvinov, Hungary’s Krisztian Pars, Tajikistan’s Dilshod Nazarov, Germany’s Marcus Esser, Polan’d Szymon Ziolkowski and USA’s Kibwe Johnson.
Finals in 14 events will start on 3 July. Besides, Russia’s best stayers will compete for the Russian 10000m Championships titles.
