World Indoor records at 1500m and 4x800m mark out spectacular day 3 at Russian Indoor Champs

Moscow, Russia - Two World records were broken on the third day of the Russian Indoor championships, with Yelena Soboleva at 1500m and a Sverdlovsk region quartet at 4x800m Relay setting the fastest times ever in their respective events**.

Yelena Soboleva sets World 1500m record

Yelena Soboleva set the women’s World indor1500m record at Russian Indoor Championships today. She improved her record by 23 seconds to 3:58.05. Yesterday, Yelena had set the Russian 800m record of 1:56.49.

Zykina and Kapachinskaya set World season bests

At the Russian Indoor Championships, Anastasiya Kapachinskaya set in the women’s 200m a World season best of 23.02sec. She won the event’s final clocking 23.03.

Soboleva continues to set records

Yelena Soboleva has set a Russian record in the women’s 800m at the Russian Indoor Championships in Moscow today. She clocked 1:56.49.

The 2008 Russian Indoor Championships have started in Moscow today and will end on Sunday. In the women’s 60m, Yevgeniya Polyakova set a World season best of 7.09sec. Andrey Yepishin won the men’s 60m with 6.64sec.
